It\u2019s a common issue, your grids show up fine in one view, but disappear in another, or sometimes grids copy\/monitored from one source appear, but don’t appear from a second source. Before you assume something\u2019s broken, here\u2019s a checklist of the usual suspects and what to do about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Common Reasons Grids Aren\u2019t Showing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Grid extents don\u2019t cross the level<\/strong>
Grids in Revit are 3D elements. If the ends of the grid line don\u2019t intersect the level\u2019s plane, the grid won\u2019t show in that floor plan. This is often the case when you create new levels after placing grids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fix: Open an elevation or section, select the grid, and stretch it to cross the level.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grid category is turned off<\/strong>
In the view\u2019s Visibility\/Graphics settings (VG), make sure \u201cGrids\u201d is ticked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grid is hidden in the view<\/strong>
Someone might\u2019ve right-clicked and hidden it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fix: Use \u201cReveal Hidden Elements\u201d (lightbulb icon) to check and unhide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scope box or crop region<\/strong>
If the grid is tied to a scope box, or falls outside the view\u2019s crop region or view range, it won\u2019t show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wrong orientation<\/strong>
In section or elevation views, grids only show if they\u2019re perpendicular to the view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fix: Check that your view is perpendicular to the grids that you want to see.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
